Wombwell Folk
About Wombwell House concerts
Wombwell house concerts held its first show in the summer of 2006 with the excellent Winter Wilson followed by the equally impressive Jess Gardham. 2008 shows included Guy Maile, Chris & Kellie While and from Tennessee Stacey Earle & Mark Stuart. 2009 will provide a full concert season. House concerts are a really good way of getting up close to the artistes in an informal setting and meeting new friends.
A House Concert is a private party for which you are sent a personal invite and is not a public music venue. All donations are made in advance and people are not able to just turn up uninvited. How it Works: When details of concerts are finalized they will be added to this site. If you then e mail us requesting to attend you will be given details of times etc. You then must send us your donation in advance as places are limited to 35 and we cant afford to turn people away then get ‘no shows’. Recommended donations are usually £10.
Concerts start at 8:00 with normally 2 sets and a 30-45min break for food finishing around 10:45pm. We do not make any profit from these shows in fact they cost us money. All donations are passed on to the artistes. By the time we’ve arranged it all and provided food we’re out of pocket. We just love doing it. It’s a great buzz and a brilliant atmosphere and what better way to see live music than this.
Come along as our guests and experience it, you wont be disappointed. email for an invite or adding to our mailing list: Artists looking for a booking please note: We are now currently fully booked for this year and well into next.

Ashleigh Flynn (USA) Born in Kentucky but now out of Portland, Oregon Flynn’s growth as an artist hasn’t gone unnoticed: Last year she was invited to play the giant Tennessee festival Bonnaroo, her recent shows have attracted label scouts and the band she plays with, the Killdeer — Funk, Decemberists’ keyboardist Jenny Conlee, and former Sheryl Crow drummer Gregg Williams among them — has infused her sometimes-spare work with a layered sophistication.” — The Oregonian, Arts & Entertainment Feb 20, 2008.
