Luncheon Clubs

Age Concern Barnsley support luncheon clubs in the Barnsley Area in a variety of ways to ensure the clubs are operating to meet all necessary standards enabling them to operate as a registered food outlet.

The groups are run as independent voluntary groups and supported by volunteers from the community.

We support all the groups with training needs in Food Safety, First Aid and Health and Safety. We also help them source funding for larger items of equipment as well as providing small items of kitchen equipment to meet the needs of the clubs.

Our Luncheon Club Development Worker is also keen to start new groups in localities where this service is not available.

Luncheon Clubs are an excellent example of supporting the older people in the community by serving a good quality healthy two course lunch in a very sociable environment.
